Manuela Perteghella MP
Stratford on Avon's Liberal Democrat MP
After a career in Higher Education, Manuela Perteghella was elected to Stratford on Avon District Council, proudly representing the ward of Welford on Avon, where she lives with her family.
She is a trustee of the local Scout group, has volunteered as a school governor, and is a director of a social enterprise supporting local artists.
She was elected to parliament on July 4th 2024.
Manuela holds a doctorate in literature and translation and has worked for several years as a university lecturer, published research in the field of European literature, and produced community arts projects.

Manuela was Parish Council Champion for the District, Vice-chair of both the Audit and Standards committee and of the Climate Change Panel, where she ensured the Council implemented its programme to increase the resilience of our communities to the impacts of climate change.

Manuela was a hard-working councillor all year round, standing up for her constituents on several issues. She takes that same enthusiasm and determination to parliament. She is a compassionate and caring politician, who listens and works with her constituents, tiers of government and agencies to help resolve issues.

Manuela has campaigned on several issues affecting our communities, from tackling food insecurity to demanding action on sewage in our rivers, from protecting our green spaces and woods from inappropriate development to campaigning for better public transport in our rural areas.
