About Manuela

After a career in Higher Education, Manuela Perteghella was elected to Stratford-on-Avon District Council, representing Welford-on-Avon, where she lives with her family.

​

She holds a doctorate in literature and translation and has worked as a university lecturer, publishing research in European literature and leading community arts projects. Manuela is also a trustee of the local Scout group, a former school governor, and a director of a social enterprise supporting local artists.

​

On 4th July 2024, she was elected as the Member of Parliament for Stratford-on-Avon.

​

As a district councillor, Manuela served as Parish Council Champion and Vice-Chair of both the Audit and Standards Committee and the Climate Change Panel. She helped ensure the Council delivered on its climate resilience commitments.

​

Manuela is known for being a hard-working, compassionate representative who listens to residents and works collaboratively to solve problems. She brings that same drive to Westminster.

​

She has campaigned on food insecurity, river pollution, protection of green spaces and woodlands, and improving rural public transport.

​

Manuela believes in practical, community-led politics and works with residents, councils, and organisations to make positive change happen.
