Many of you have written to me to share your experiences navigating the SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) system — from delays and barriers to assessments, to challenges in securing the right support for your children. Your voices have made clear that urgent change is needed.

My team and I are holding a dedicated SEND Forum to hear directly from families, carers, and young people about the realities you're facing, and to discuss how we can push for improvements both locally and nationally.

This will be a safe, informal space to speak openly, ask questions, and share ideas. Whether you’ve previously written to Manuela or are joining the conversation for the first time, you are very welcome.
