On 18 July 2025, Manuela Perteghella MP convened a multi-agency stakeholder meeting at Earlswood Village Hall to address ongoing concerns regarding anti-social behaviour (ASB) in the local area, particularly around the Earlswood Causeway.
The meeting was attended by representatives from Warwickshire Police, Warwickshire County Council, Stratford-on-Avon District Council, Tanworth Parish Council, the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner, the Canal & River Trust, as well as local residents and community groups.
The purpose of the meeting was to bring together all relevant agencies to identify coordinated and enforceable actions in response to persistent ASB, including dangerous driving, noise, drug use, and large gatherings.
Key Outcomes
Police Presence: Warwickshire Police committed to maintaining and increasing dedicated patrols over the summer and confirmed ongoing cooperation with West Midlands Police to address cross-border issues.
Traffic and Safety: Warwickshire County Council agreed to explore a Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) to reduce the 60mph speed limit on the Causeway and to review options around land ownership and enforcement powers.
Community Initiatives: Plans were discussed to re-establish Community Speed Watch with immediate volunteer recruitment, and to explore the feasibility of launching a Street Watch scheme with support from the Police and Crime Commissioner.
CCTV and Reporting: Stratford District Council confirmed the CCTV system in Malthouse Lane is fully operational, while residents were urged to continue reporting incidents through official channels (101, online reporting, Warwickshire Connected) to ensure effective deployment of resources.
Next Steps
A stakeholder debrief will be held on 26 August 2025 to assess progress against the agreed actions. Following this, a further update will be provided to the community, including clear timelines for delivery.
Manuela Perteghella MP said:
“I am grateful to all agencies and residents who attended and contributed to this important discussion. The persistence of anti-social behaviour in Earlswood is causing real distress for local people, and it is vital that the agencies involved now deliver tangible action. I look forward to continuing to work with partners and to updating the community following the next debrief.”
